Comments from Fractional Owners in le Palace des Vosges

Charles D. and Lee H. -- This magical place!

After having visited Paris a number of times, it was our dream to own an apartment in Paris. However, since we are many years from retirement, it became apparent that it isn't practical to take on the expense and headaches of full-ownership. Fractional ownership was an intriguing idea. After scouring the internet, and looking at all the available options, Le Palace des Vosges stood out as the most luxurious and best located fractional apartment in Paris.

One spring day, during a trip to Paris, Adrian Leeds met us at the apartment for a tour. Once through the large wooden doors located on the prestigious and historical Place des Vosges and into the second courtyard, we were captivated by the complete feeling of privacy—the only thing one hears is the chirping of birds. The bustling city feels miles away.

Inside, the apartment is nothing short of complete luxury. Adrian and interior designer Martine di Mattéo transformed this space with every modern convenience. We've rented apartments in Paris for years, and we would always talk about how, if we owned them, we would change something. Not at the Palace des Vosges. As an interior designer, I am blown away by how well-appointed and large the apartment feels—it's actually a "maisonette." When we host family and friends, we really appreciate that bedrooms are on different floors, and each one has its own bathroom—a true luxury in Paris.

We have come to learn that at the heart of any successful fractional is the group of people associated with it. With any group situation, multiple personalities can be a problem. Again, not here. It is like a family! Adrian and her team go out of their way to "vet" interested parties to make sure they are the perfect fit for our group. We've heard horror stories of in-fighting in other fractionals, but again NOT HERE--Everyone involved is respectful, and a joy to know.

Buying a share at Le Palace has been one of the best decisions we've made. For the supreme location and luxury, it is a true value. There's nothing quite like the feeling we have being a part of this magical place.

Gail M. (and Rick) –- Thrilled to be an owner!

I admit it. I’m a Francophile (I love all things French). Since visiting Paris at the impressionable age of 14, my dream has been to somehow connect with the City of Light beyond casual vacations. So, somewhat older than 14, but still impressionable, I became an avid reader of Parler Paris and watched as Le Palace Des Vosges developed. An American company, a full month to live in Paris rotating through all the seasons, enough room for guests and entertaining -- sign me up!

With a deposit in place, we met Adrian for the first time at La Place Des Vosges. The square was built by Henri IV about 1605. Jousting tournaments were held here and royalty lived in splendor. Walking through the large green door at #9 into a quiet courtyard with roses, cobblestones and statues and up to the familiar floor-to-ceiling windows of Le Palace, I entered and knew immediately that this was it! The elegance of Marie Antoinette’s Paris grounded by the huge rustic 400 year-old beams spoke to me. The view from every room of the Hôtel de Sully, built in 1624, was “la piece de resistance."

My husband and I just spent two incredible weeks during the holidays, enjoying every modern convenience in a peaceful country-like setting amidst the bustling Marais. Adrian and Martine’s attention to detail is evident in every choice of fabric, furniture and decor. Next trip, I’m packing my Julia’s French cookbook to take full advantage of the gourmet kitchen. The owners are becoming friends -- leaving wine, books, DVD’s, recipes and spice blends for each other’s use. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone. However, all owners found the same problem with Le Palace – LEAVING! But hey, we’ll always have Paris.

Gail A. (and Bruce) -- When Le Palace appeared in the newsletter, I knew it was the perfect situation for us.

Adrian already captured my first reaction to Le Palace des Vosges on video in August, and our deposit really was sent based on the original video of empty space and confidence in Adrian’s past work. Of course, my story begins earlier as did “the other Gail’s.” I first visited Paris in the early 80’s and I returned time and time again always with enthusiasm, but each time dreaming of being more than a visitor. I wanted to live in Paris; I wanted my own pied a terre. So, the stage was set early…but the challenge just how to marry my desire with reality? I am also an avid reader of Parler Paris. When Le Palace appeared in the newsletter, I knew it was the perfect situation for us. Part-time, and maintenance free, with a rotation that allows diversified seasonal experience were only the more practical of the considerations. But, the property itself…UNIQUE… and not just the Marais, but Le Place des Vosges – an amazing combination!

Our first crack at “living” in Paris in December was fabulous. The first day found us strolling through the marvelous Sunday Bastille market, only a few minutes’ walk from the Place, filling bags with goodies. Each day was a new adventure full of discovery, beginning with opening the antique green courtyard door into the beautiful La Place des Vosges. Yes, I realized, what I only imagined, when videoed in August: groceries on the counter, flowers from the market and my first dinner party! Hey, I could go on and on, but the bottom line is – in the future we’ll be returning to Paris in the way that only owning a specific property and caring about the details achieves – the sensation of coming home. Thank you, Adrian and Martine, for your expertise and vision in purchasing, designing and decorating our amazing apartment.

Mark C. (and Jane) -- Another Satisfied Owner

"We are enjoying the apartment and Paris so much, Jane and I feel its one of the best decisions we've made. Everyone involved deserves a good pat on the back for the care and thought and effort that has gone into keeping the apartment in such excellent condition. As you know, it's a pleasure to come home too."
